#12 TAMP Season 8 Episode 12 Mike Smith AMFF26 Part 2
29.06.2026 1:05:28Mike Smith is a Nebraska-based storyteller and filmmaker whose short documentary Prairie Pirates has quickly become a standout piece in the motorcycle‑film community. The film follows Mike and his friend Brady as they travel across Nebraska in search of vintage dirt bikes, uncovering not just old machines but the hidden stories, characters, and history tucked away in the prairie. Shot entirely in Western Nebraska, the project blends motorcycle culture, local heritage, and a sense of adventure rooted deeply in place. Smith describes the film as a “love letter to the Nebraska prairie,” celebrating the landscapes and people that shaped the journey.
What began as a simple idea—tracking down a couple of guys with a stash of vintage bikes—evolved into something far richer. During filming, Smith and his team uncovered a little‑known history of Kawasaki in Western Nebraska, forged unexpected friendships, and rediscovered the childlike joy of riding old dirt bikes under the stars. Prairie Pirates went on to place third at the Vahna Motorcycle Film Festival, touring nationally and representing Nebraska alongside films shot in British Columbia and Ecuador. Smith often emphasizes that the film proves adventure doesn’t require exotic destinations—sometimes the best stories are buried in your own backyard, waiting to be dug up like treasure

#9 TAMP Season 8 Episode 9 The Adventure Motocycle Film Festival Part 1
11.05.2026 58:08The Adventure Motorcycle Film Festival team — Clive Barber and Simon Josey — look back on the 2026 edition with the kind of grin you only get after pulling off something special. The inaugural festival didn’t just meet expectations; it smashed them. A sold‑out crowd at the Brewery Arts Centre, filmmakers from across the UK and beyond, and a community that proved just how hungry riders are for real, human, two‑wheeled storytelling. Now, with momentum behind them, they are already shaping AMFF27, more voices, and a bigger platform for the stories that define adventure riding.
As part of the 2026 reflections, the team also caught up with three filmmakers whose work lit up the screen. Danny Lilwall spoke about turning everyday rides into emotional narratives that resonate far beyond the trail. Nick Jacobs shared how he balances cinematic craft with the raw unpredictability of travel. And Thomas Dance reflected on capturing the quiet, introspective moments that make adventure riding more than just miles on a map. Their passion, creativity, and willingness to push the genre forward embody exactly what the festival was built to celebrate.

#8 TAMP Season 8 Episode 8 James White We are Full Gas
27.04.2026 41:49Motorcycling demands more than skill and adrenaline — it requires a level of fitness that helps riders stay in control, avoid injury, and maintain stamina on long days in the saddle. James White, th eowner of 'We Are Full Gas', who specialises in working with motorcyclists, highlights how the right physical preparation can make riders faster, safer, and more confident on the bike.
His approach focuses on five key areas: core strength for stability, balance training for better handling, flexibility to prevent tightness and strain, cardiovascular fitness for endurance, and nutrition to fuel both riding and training. Each element plays a different role, from improving cornering control to reducing fatigue and keeping reaction times sharp. Many riders overlook these fundamentals, but they’re essential for consistent performance.
By weaving these habits into a weekly routine — a mix of strength work, balance drills, stretching, cardio sessions, and smarter eating — riders can noticeably improve how they feel and perform on the bike. The message is simple: start small, stay consistent, and treat fitness as part of your riding toolkit.

#5 TAMP Season 8 Episode 5 Guy Markham
30.03.2026 1:05:08From Security to Social Media Stardom: A Journey of Passion and Humor
In a world where social media reigns supreme, the journey of content creators often takes unexpected turns. In this episode, we delve into the fascinating story of Guy Markham, who transitioned from a decade in private security to becoming a beloved figure in the online motorcycling community. Join us as we explore his experiences, challenges, and the humor that fuels his content.
The Shift from Security to Content Creation
Guy Markham spent over ten years in private security, working mainly in the film industry. However, when the writer's strike hit, he found himself with unexpected free time. "I started making silly videos and sending them to my friends while I was out of work," Guy recalls. This lighthearted approach soon blossomed into something much bigger, as his friends encouraged him to share his videos online. Little did he know, this was the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
The Power of Encouragement
It was during a lunch with friends that the idea to take his videos public really took off. "You should put these videos online, they're really funny," his friends said. Initially hesitant, Guy thought, "I'm 36, no one gives a shit about what I'm doing." But with persistence and encouragement, he took the plunge, and his follower count soon skyrocketed. Today, Guy boasts an impressive following of over 96,000 followers, proving that sometimes all it takes is a little nudge from friends to change your life.
Creating Value Through Humor
What sets Guy apart in the crowded space of content creation is his ability to infuse humor into everything he does. He often emphasizes: "I regularly put disclaimers at the end of my videos saying, you don't need to take my advice on anything." This self-deprecating humor not only entertains but also resonates with his audience, allowing them to connect with him on a deeper level. His approach to sharing his experiences in challenging riding conditions invites viewers to share in the joy and absurdity of life on two wheels.
The Journey of Growth
Guy’s journey has not been without its challenges. He reflects on the importance of staying grounded despite gaining popularity. "When you have literally thousands of people saying they like what you're doing, you have to keep yourself in check," he admits. This humility is a testament to his character and a reminder that success should never lead to arrogance. Instead, Guy uses his platform to encourage others to embrace their passions, no matter how unconventional they may seem.
Conclusion:
Guy Markham's story is a reminder that life’s detours can lead to unexpected and fulfilling paths. From private security to an online sensation, his journey highlights the importance of friendship, humor, and staying true to oneself. #9 TAMP Special Edition Endo Riders Endometriosis UK Street Twin Kim Jade Rides
23.03.2026 37:12What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis occurs when cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. These cells can grow and change in response to hormones in the menstrual cycle, this can cause inflammation, pain and scar tissue.
Endometriosis is most commonly found on the lining of the pelvis (peritoneum) and may occur in the ovaries and involve other pelvic organs, like the bowel or bladder. Less commonly, endometriosis can also be found outside the pelvis, such as in the chest.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth from puberty to menopause, although the impact may be felt for life. In the UK, that’s over 1.5 million from all races and ethnicities living with the condition.
Types of endometriosis
There are four different types of endometriosis and it’s possible to have more than one type. The different types refer to the location, amount and depth of endometrial lesions.
Peritoneal (superficial) endometriosis - is found mainly on the pelvic peritoneum – a thin film that lines the inner surface of the pelvis and surrounds the pelvic organs.
Ovarian endometriosis (endometrioma) – is when endometriosis cysts are found in the ovaries.
Deep endometriosis - is found in locations such as the bladder, bowel and recto-vaginal septum (tissue separating the vagina and the rectum). The lesions of endometriosis are at a deeper level than peritoneal (superficial) endometriosis.
Extra-pelvic endometriosis - is when endometriosis is found outside of the pelvis, such as the thorax (chest) and caesarean scars.A related condition is adenomyosis, where cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb grow within the muscle of the womb wall. Adenomyosis also responds to the hormones in the menstrual cycle and affects 10% of women and those assigned female at birth. You can have only endometriosis or adenomyosis, although it’s quite common to have both.
Endometriosis symptoms
Symptoms vary from person to person, some may have severe and debilitating symptoms, others may have no symptoms at all. Symptoms are not always related to the location, amount or the type of endometriosis. It’s also important to know that endometriosis symptoms can also be symptoms of other health conditions. We recommend that you speak to a doctor if your symptoms are interfering with day-to-day life.
Common symptoms include:- Pelvic pain
- Painful periods that interfere with everyday life
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Pain during or after sex
- Painful bowel movements/when having a poo
- Pain when urinating/peeing
- Difficulty getting pregnant – up to 70% of those with endometriosis will be able to get pregnant naturally
- Fatigue, with one or more of the above symptoms
Many with endometriosis also experience significant bloating around the time of a period. However, bloating can also be common for those without endometriosis and bloating that does not go away can be a symptom of other health conditions. Having endometriosis can significantly impact mental health and wellbeing. With treatment, many of these issues can be addressed, and the symptoms of endometriosis made more manageable. The main ways to manage and treat endometriosis are, pain management, hormone treatments and surgery. Sometimes it can take time to find a treatment that suits you and response to treatment can vary, please keep speaking to your doctor. It’s important to remember that:
- Endometriosis symptoms can also be symptoms of other health conditions.
- Endometriosis is not a sexually transmitted infection and is not contagious
- Endometriosis is not cancer

#17 TAMP Season 6 Episode 17 Beth and Nick Munduro de Tontos
29.07.2024 58:21"Nick and Beth, a young British couple, embarked on the journey of a lifetime; a motorcycle expedition from Texas to Ushuaia, Argentina. However, their adventure took a harrowing turn in Belize:
It's almost 1am and Beth and Nick are camped in an established campground in Belize when five men armed with guns and machetes cut their way into the tent claiming to be police. After being pulled outside, the pair were then bound with ropes and forced to surrender all their possessions: Phones, GPS devices, Cameras, Go Pros, Helmet Comms, Tools, $700 in cash and memory cards filled with cherished trip photographs. This process involved an hour of Beth and Nick watching while the thieves broke into / cut open all their luggage, tipping all of their belongings onto the floor in pouring rain. Within the hour Beth and Nick’s losses amounted to almost 7000 GBP / 8800 USD.
Sadly it gets worse. After finding some spent ammunition kept as a souvenir from the USA, the thieves believed Beth and Nick were armed. Repeated explanations about the spent brass were in vain and Nick endured physical assault, being repeatedly kicked in the face with his hands tied behind his back, he was hit in the back of the head with a hunting rifle and suffered a bad concussion. Beth endured a terrifying sexual assault. Nick described to me the terror they felt while thieves put a machete to each of their throats and pointed a gun at their kneecaps, repeatedly counting down to zero in an attempt to make them reveal the location of the non-existent guns. Beth and Nick were eventually left, albeit with nothing of value but their motorcycles (which the thieves were unable to operate) face down in the mud with the hands tied. They remained here for several hours before being freed.
The police were then called, who visited the scene of the crime at 4am for just 30 minutes before leaving without offering the couple any shelter, form of communication, or peace of mind. Despite the trauma and lack of support from local authorities, Nick and Beth displayed remarkable resilience. They decided to leave the campsite immediately for their own safety, packing their soaked belongings into what luggage was still useable, they rode through the night seeking refuge in a gas station 40km away until the morning. It was far more successful than anticipated and bought a community together!
Now, the festival is aimed at travellers, adventurers and all those interested in the Lightweight Adventure scene. This is not a luxury boutique festival by any means. Instead, it peels back those layers of luxury just a little and gets back to basics. Now we're adventuring!

#5 TAMP Season 6 Episode 5 Olly Crowie Wrenchride
12.02.2024 44:35www.wrenchride.co.uk
"Wrenchride started originally building rally and adventure motorcycles but whilst doing so developed great relationships with lots of suppliers and rally kit producers which in turn made us a uk dealer for part sales and official builder for most of them. As with most things growth and change is a natural progression so moving forward we will carry on offering our fantastic fully equipped workshop facilities for all your build and service needs plus going forward to improve on our excellent over the phone service for advise on parts and builds also ordering fulfilment our new online shop will make for a better customer experience all round.
We like to sell products we believe in and work well that is why we try and test every product we sell on our own shop bikes before offering the product to our customers, We also know that as good as a product can be it is not necessarily the best in all situations so using and testing products helps us help you when choosing right 1st time.
Wrenchride believes that buying the most expensive part does not make it the correct part for everyone so when our customers contact us for advise we like to have a chat about your individual needs and work out what we think the best options are for your requirements, we also believe that it is great to pass on business to others in the industry so if we do not sell what you are after we are sure we will know the best place to turn to."Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):

#4 TAMP Season 6 Episode 4 The Motorcycle Portraits.net and Kinga Tanajewska onherbike
05.02.2024 57:28Kinga was born in 1981 in what was then Communist Poland, just before the start of Martial law. Her home town is Suwalki, located in the North-East region famous for its grand, serene lakes.
After finishing her Engineering degree in Poland she immigrated to Australia. After a couple of years of living in the hustle and bustle of Sydney, working odd jobs, she finally found a job in the construction industry! Australia started to feel like home. A few years after that, she started thinking that I need to get out of the city more and, if I really wanted to explore this amazing country, I needed to be able to ride on dirt – so I purchased a BMW F800GS and I was an instant convert!
Kinga has now been travelling the world for 7 years, we talk to her whilst she is taking a break at home in Australia, before restarting her travels in South America...

#11 TAMP Season 5 Episode 11 The Helmet Inspection Company Martin Slowey
20.11.2023 46:20https://helmetinspection.co.uk/
"A helmet can be a costly purchase, and the thought of replacing it before it’s absolutely necessary often influences our outlook towards risk. Our decision-making can also be fuelled if we’ve never had to call on our helmet to save us from serious injury.
If there’s little or no visible signs of damage, we’ve now got the perfect storm and it becomes easy to convince ourselves it’ll be okay.
Out of sight, out of mind.
When our founder accidentally dropped a new motorcycle helmet, he wanted to know if it would continue to perform as intended, or if he needed to retire the helmet and purchase a replacement. Is it still safe to use?
The thought of shelling out for a replacement wasn’t appealing.
Friends provided anecdotal evidence and further words of reassurance, all suggesting the helmet would be okay to continue to use:
- “Your head wasn’t in it at the time, it’ll be okay”
- “If a helmet can’t withstand a small drop like that, it’s never going to protect you if you came off”
- “That’s just cosmetic. You definitely don’t need a new helmet”
- “I saw a helmet guy on a YouTube video, and he said …”
All very convincing … so the helmet continued to be used for another few months.
But our man was far from convinced, and the doubt was creeping in when he was out on his bike.
He took the helmet to his local retailer, and asked the OEM-trained technician to carry out an inspection.
The retailer provided a thorough visual inspection and declared It should be fine
As thorough as this visual inspection appeared to be, the result wasn’t convincing.
What would happen if a different technician were to carry out another visual inspection on the same helmet?
Would it still be the same result? He left the retailer’s premises with doubts and still lacked peace of mind. Is my helmet still safe to use?
So, we fixed it for you.
We’ve created a service that’s both affordable and convenient. And with an efficient 4-5 working days turnaround we don’t tie your helmet up at our lab for weeks on end.
What About The Dropped Helmet?
Safety-critical damage was identified during our test – and a new helmet was purchased.
Does That Mean A Dropped Helmet Is Definitely Compromised?
Absolutely not! Our man was just unlucky.Since we started providing our service in July 2021, we’ve tested thousands of customer helmets and the pass rate is currently 75%."

Bikes in Barns is a new thing for us. We travel to meet some fascinating people and talk to them about there amazing bikes and the adventures they have had on them.
Feel free to listen, but you can watch the film here;
https://www.youtube.com/@TheTAMPodcast/videos
Join us for an incredible journey down memory lane as we explore the captivating world of motorbikes and trail riding. In the first part of the episode, I share my childhood obsession with motorbikes, influenced by iconic figures like Barry Sheen and Graham Noyce, and my dad's love for bikes. I reflect on my first bike, touring Europe with my dad, and how my bedroom walls were plastered with pictures of motorbikes. From dreaming of becoming a mechanic to actually designing and building my own bikes, the fascination never faded.
The second part of the episode shifts gears to the thrill of riding. I talk about my own collection of bikes, from the Honda CB125S, which I converted into a schoolboy scrambler and raced at 12 years old, to the 2021 Honda CRF 300 Rally that I recently upgraded with rally raid suspension. Additionally, I share my experiences with the Beta Evo 300 two-stroke, which I use for trials riding. Lastly, I extend an invitation to listeners to join me in creating a film about the bikes and the podcast, and reveal my plans for a trail riding weekend in the Peak District. #15 TAMP Season 4 Episode 16 Adventure Country Tracks (ACT)
05.06.2023 50:25"Adventure Country Tracks e.V. is a registered organization whose mission is to establish and maintain off-road routes and tracks in European countries for so-called adventure motorcycles / dual purpose bikes.
By providing information, advocacy and promoting responsible motorcycle travel, ACT seeks to preserve motorcycling on unpaved roads in the hinterland for generations to come and also to promote tourism in rural areas. Adventure Country Tracks works with enthusiastic partners in some countries of Europe, with tourism authorities, land administrations, forest services, tourist boards, tour operators, etc. to provide routes and remote roads for motorcycling.
By investing in communication and hopefully supporting local small businesses, guesthouses, and local resources, ACT is able to provide GPS tracks and advice, create photo and video archives of the routes, and educate the motorcycle community on the routes.
Our desire is to provide a detailed documentation of the routes, areas and backgrounds and to motivate the traveler to follow these routes. Epic rides that you can self-guide, taken at your speed, with your friends just however you like to travel. Trails that take you away from population into empty valleys, up windswept hills and mountains, that place you in the nature, and roads – empty sinuous country roads – that make the breaks between the trails every bit as fascinating."Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):

#7 TAMP Season 4 Episode 7 Brett Anderson The Last Big Ride
13.03.2023 1:09:32Brett Anderson was living a healthy and active life with his wife and dog in Hot Springs, Virginia. He had worked as a pilot for United Airlines for 26 years out of Washington D.C. and was a senior Captain flying International routes to Europe and South America. In the late summer of 2021 he noticed that he was having excessive shortness of breath with simple exertions, such as walking up a slight hill, something very unusual for him as he regularly ran 3-4 miles a day, rode motorcycles off-road, and lifted weights. As this continued and got worse Brett went to his doctor who took a chest x-ray and immediately sent him to the local emergency room, where they admitted him to the hospital for 4 days. He was diagnosed with Chronic Eosinophilic Pneumonia, a type of Autoimmune Lung disease. After being released and started on a treatment regimen, he got better for a while, but then stopped improving after a few months. He could not get back to running and other cardio activities without extreme shortness of breath.
Concerned about the long-term effects, Brett went to one of the top pulmonology clinics in the world, the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester MN, where he was eventually diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis as a result of the Eosinophilic Pneumonia.
Knowing that PF is a terminal lung disease, but not knowing if he had one year or many left, Brett decided to not only fulfill some dreams of his own by riding his motorcycle in different areas around the world, but to use his journeys to inspire others and to show that a bad medical diagnosis does not mean you have to stop living your life. Because the FAA has decided that he cannot keep flying with this disease, his career is currently on hold, but he is working with his doctors to convince the FAA that he is safe to keep flying at his current disease level. In the meantime, Brett decided to raise money for Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness and research through a fundraiser for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

#9 TAMP Season 3 Episode 8 The Perfect Trail and Adventure (TET) Motorbike
19.07.2022 1:10:58Want to know definitively which is the best trail and adventure bike for the Trans Euro Trail (TET)? Then you have come to the right place, for a complete mix of opinions.
Greg Villalobos has made another lovely holiday video from our trip to Spain earlier this year. It's available on Adventure Spec's YouTube channel.
https://youtu.be/MoziGlQBno0
It should probably have more of me in it, but Adam makes up for it with his in helmet hilarity/weirdness.
It is currently called "Lightweight adventure riding & wild camping in the Spainish mountains". Catchy.
We have a massive argument about which was the best bike on the trip (except Adam's GS310, because Adam couldn't make it, and lets face it the GS310 is a rare choice.)
We all agree it is my bike (or one of the others) then I edit out everything I don't agree with, and add some extra content once everybody else has gone. A clear winner then. Or maybe not...Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):

#6 TAMP Season 1 Episode 6 Back with the TAMP Team
29.11.2018 57:16In this long awaited 6th episode we are trialing our new recording equipment, which will hopefully banish bad sound quality for ever. Noel has been scouting new TET trails in northern Spain whilst being chased by wild boars. We visit the bike show, and in our imaginations, come away with a Honda CRF250L, a KTM 690 Adventure, the new Norton Atlas Scrambler and a Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE. We ponder whether AJP have made the best TET bike ever (AJP PR7 Adventure), discuss emotional attachments to inanimate objects and our differing views on, well, everything, but especially safety gear.

12.09.2018 1:22:28We are joined by Steve Stout and Lucy Dunn. Steve was the driving force behind the re-building of the Old Coach Road in north Cumbria. From the TAT to the TET, Steve has traveled and worked all over the world and tells us some great tales from his time in places like Antarctica, and why he is opposed to HEP schemes in Albania. The sound quality is a bit rubbish, sorry, we need to improve our microphone technique! But Steve tells a very informative and instructional story of how he managed and funded the work on the Old Coach Road. If you contributed, it's a fine way of finding out where your money went.

#2 TAMP Season 1 Episode 2 The TET Special with John Ross
13.07.2018 35:48Welcome to our second podcast. We recorded this one on location at a Lake District log cabin, near a river. Sadly the sound of the river was terrible, so we had to apply some noise reduction, which has distorted the sound somewhat. We hope you don't find it too distracting. We are new to this, and are not professionals, so bear with us, we will get better!

#1 TAMP Season 1 Episode 1 Welcome to the TAMPodcast with Clive and Noel
12.07.2018 40:23This is our first podcast. We spend far too long talking about ourselves, but it seemed sensible to let you know who we are. We would love to hear from you, so let us know what you think and the type of thing you would like us to cover. Who would you like us to interview? What events would you like us to talk about etc.
